Article: Mormon leader implies “his” God would be okay with more orphans and no Gay parenting couples

The DΨvil in the dΨtail: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ seems to insist that “their version of God” have a monopoly on marriages or civil unions, and that marriage should be limited to unions between a man and a woman.  Ok.

Said Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve, “[God] designated the purpose of marriage to go far beyond the personal satisfaction and fulfillment of adults, to more importantly, advancing the ideal setting for children to be born, reared and nurtured.”

So, Mr. Andersen, it sounds as if your version of God would prefer to have more orphans in an orphanage than place such children into the home of a homosexual (read: loving) couple able to provide essentially the same environment of a heterosexual couple, if not an environment better than an orphanage. No?  Would God not adhere to common sense, if not logic?

206263-268494Andersen is a member of the church’s Quorum of the Twelve, which is the second-highest governing body of the church. Modeled after Jesus Christ’s apostles, the 12 men serve under the church president and his two counselors.

You mean, there may be eleven others in this second-highest governing body of this church that do not believe in a “God of common sense”?
